Welcome to Matchmakers In The City. Please read this Basic Membership Agreement carefully before purchasing or enrolling in a Basic Membership, Personal Matchmaker Meeting, Matchmaker Interview, or any recurring Basic Membership service.
By purchasing a Basic Membership, booking a Personal Matchmaker Meeting, booking a Matchmaker Interview, submitting a profile, checking an acceptance box, or otherwise participating in Basic Membership services, you agree to this Basic Membership Agreement, the Matchmakers In The City Terms & Conditions, and the Matchmakers In The City Privacy Policy.
Where required by California law, you may cancel this agreement without penalty or obligation at any time prior to midnight of the third business day following the date of this agreement, excluding Sundays and holidays.
To cancel under this statutory cancellation right, send written notice stating “I hereby cancel this agreement,” or words of similar effect, to:

Refunds required by applicable California dating services law will be processed in accordance with applicable law. California dating services law provides a three-business-day cancellation right, and online dating service cancellation may be provided by email to the address supplied by the seller.
1. Basic Membership Options
Matchmakers In The City, LLC, “MITC,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” may offer two types of Basic Memberships:
a. Basic Bachelors Membership
b. Basic Bachelorettes Membership
Basic Membership is designed for eligible singles who would like to be included in MITC’s private matchmaking database and potentially be considered for compatible matchmaking opportunities.
2. Basic Membership Fee and Personal Matchmaker Meeting
The Basic Membership fee is $200 per year, unless otherwise stated in writing.
By signing up for a Personal Matchmaker Meeting and paying the $200 Basic Membership fee, you receive:
a. A Basic Membership for the applicable membership year;
b. Inclusion in MITC’s private matchmaking database;
c. A Personal Matchmaker Meeting consultation, during which you may learn more about MITC, the membership process, and potential membership opportunities.
The Personal Matchmaker Meeting is a consultation. It does not guarantee that MITC will accept you into any higher-level membership, introduce you to any particular person, provide a date, provide a match, or offer active matchmaking services.
3. Basic Membership Is a Passive Database Membership
Basic Membership is a passive database membership.
Basic Members may be considered as potential matches for MITC Priority Members, paid Clients, or other MITC participants. However, Basic Membership does not guarantee:
a. A match;
b. A date;
c. An introduction;
d. A Matchmaker Interview;
e. Active matchmaking;
f. Candidate recruitment;
g. Date Coaching;
h. Follow-up communication;
i. Any specific number of opportunities;
j. Any romantic result, relationship, chemistry, compatibility, engagement, or marriage.
MITC may, in its discretion, contact Basic Members if MITC believes there may be a potential match opportunity.
4. Creating Your Own Profile
If you decide to create your own Basic Member profile, you must complete the Basic Member profile form emailed to you by one of our Matchmakers.
You agree that all information you provide must be truthful, accurate, current, and complete.
You are responsible for updating MITC if any information changes, including your relationship status, location, contact information, availability, preferences, photos, or other material information.
5. Optional Matchmaker Interview
If you prefer to have a Matchmaker assist with your profile or learn more about you through a more detailed interview, you may purchase a Matchmaker Interview.
The Matchmaker Interview is a separate optional service for an additional $250 fee, unless otherwise stated in writing.
A Matchmaker Interview does not guarantee active matchmaking, a match, a date, an introduction, or any romantic outcome.
6. Recurring Annual Payment Terms and Disclosure
The Basic Membership and/or Matchmaker Interview may be offered as recurring annual services.
This Section is MITC’s recurring annual payment disclosure. By agreeing to this Basic Membership Agreement, signing up for a Basic Membership, purchasing a Matchmaker Interview, checking an acceptance box, submitting payment, or otherwise accepting these terms, you acknowledge and agree that you have received, reviewed, understood, and accepted the recurring annual payment terms described in this Section.
If you sign up for a Basic Membership, Matchmaker Interview, or recurring option during your consultation or through an online purchase page, you agree to the recurring annual payment terms set forth in this Agreement and disclosed to you at the time of purchase.
Unless you cancel before renewal, your selected recurring service will automatically renew each year at the then-disclosed annual rate, and MITC or its payment processor will continue charging your payment method annually until you cancel.
Current annual recurring rates, unless otherwise stated in writing, are:
a. Basic Membership: $200 per year;
b. Matchmaker Interview: $250 per year, if selected as a recurring annual service.
By agreeing to this Agreement, you understand and agree that:
a. The selected recurring service will automatically renew annually unless canceled;
b. MITC or its payment processor may charge your payment method annually for the selected recurring service;
c. MITC will continue charging your payment method each year unless and until you cancel before the applicable renewal;
d. The recurring charge will be the then-disclosed annual rate for the selected service;
e. The service will continue until canceled;
f. MITC will send a renewal reminder email approximately one month before the annual renewal date;
g. You may cancel future recurring charges by replying to MITC’s renewal reminder email with a clear written request to cancel, by emailing nina@matchmakersinthecity.com at any time throughout the duration of your membership with the subject line or message “Cancel Basic Membership” or “Cancel Matchmaker Interview,” or by clicking the cancellation link provided by MITC:

h. Cancellation stops future recurring charges but does not automatically create a refund for amounts already paid, except as required by applicable law or expressly stated in writing.
7. Renewal Reminder
For annual recurring services, MITC will send a renewal reminder email approximately one month before your renewal date.
This reminder is provided as a courtesy and as part of MITC’s renewal process. You are still responsible for managing your membership and cancellation preferences.
8. How to Cancel
You may cancel future recurring charges at any time.

You may also reply to MITC’s renewal reminder email with a clear written request to cancel.
Cancellation stops future recurring charges. Cancellation does not automatically create a refund for amounts already paid, except as required by applicable law or expressly stated in writing.

10. No Refunds After Cancellation Period Except as Required by Law
After any applicable statutory cancellation period expires, Basic Membership fees, Personal Matchmaker Meeting fees, Matchmaker Interview fees, and recurring renewal fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or expressly stated in writing.
Cancellation stops future recurring charges, but it does not refund past payments for services, access, database inclusion, consultations, interviews, profile review, or membership time already purchased, provided, made available, or used.
11. Eligibility and Accuracy of Information
By signing up, you represent that:
a. You are at least 18 years old;
b. You are legally able to enter into this agreement;
c. You are legally single or otherwise legally and ethically available to date;
d. All information you provide is truthful, accurate, current, and complete;
e. You will promptly update MITC if your information changes;
f. You are participating in good faith and not for fraud, media, investigation, harassment, data collection, or any improper purpose.
MITC may decline, pause, remove, or terminate any Basic Member in its discretion, subject to applicable law.
12. Background Checks and Screening
MITC may conduct or request background checks, identity checks, social media checks, sex offender registry checks, public records searches, reference checks, online searches, or other screening measures.
Screening is limited and may not reveal all information about a person. MITC does not guarantee that any client, Basic Member, candidate, potential match, or event participant is safe, truthful, compatible, emotionally available, financially stable, legally single, or free of criminal, civil, or personal issues.
You are responsible for using your own judgment and taking reasonable safety precautions when communicating with or meeting anyone.
13. No Guarantee of Matchmaking Outcome
MITC does not guarantee marriage, engagement, exclusivity, love, chemistry, compatibility, a relationship, a second date, a specific person, a specific type of person, or any particular romantic outcome.
Basic Membership is not an active matchmaking membership unless otherwise stated in a separate written agreement.
MITC may use good faith professional judgment in considering potential matches, but no database inclusion, profile, interview, or consultation is a promise that you will be matched, contacted, introduced, accepted, or selected.
14. Confidentiality
MITC’s matchmaking process is confidential.
You agree not to disclose, publish, screenshot, forward, post, upload, share, or misuse MITC’s confidential information, including match suggestions, candidate identities, client identities, profiles, photos, contact information, feedback, interview notes, Matchmaker communications, pricing, internal processes, database information, or proprietary business information.
You also agree not to publicly identify, discuss, embarrass, harass, contact, investigate, expose, or misuse information about any MITC client, candidate, potential match, Basic Member, event participant, Matchmaker, team member, or referral source.
15. Conduct
You agree to treat MITC, its Matchmakers, team members, clients, candidates, potential matches, event participants, vendors, and referral sources with respect.
MITC may remove, pause, or terminate participation if you engage in conduct that MITC reasonably determines is dishonest, unsafe, harassing, discriminatory, threatening, abusive, inappropriate, or inconsistent with the integrity of the matchmaking process.
16. Consent to Communications
You consent to receive service-related communications from MITC by email, phone, text, website form, online portal, CRM, or other contact method you provide.
Service-related communications may include membership information, renewal reminders, cancellation confirmations, profile questions, potential match inquiries, scheduling communications, and administrative notices.
17. Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy
This Basic Membership Agreement is incorporated into and governed by MITC’s Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
By signing up for Basic Membership, a Personal Matchmaker Meeting, a Matchmaker Interview, a recurring membership, or any related service, you agree to MITC’s Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

18. Agreement to Recurring Payment
If you select a recurring Basic Membership or recurring Matchmaker Interview, you authorize MITC or its payment processor to charge your payment method annually for the selected service until you cancel.
You understand and agree that:
a. The service renews annually unless canceled;
b. The renewal amount will be disclosed before purchase;
c. You will receive a renewal reminder approximately one month before renewal;
d. You may cancel future recurring charges at any time;
e. Cancellation stops future recurring charges but does not automatically refund prior payments, except as required by law.
19. Electronic Acceptance
By checking the acceptance box, clicking a purchase button, submitting payment, booking a consultation, booking a Matchmaker Interview, submitting a profile, or otherwise accepting this Basic Membership Agreement electronically, you agree that your electronic acceptance has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.

21. Private Binding Arbitration
By agreeing to this Basic Membership Agreement, you and Matchmakers In The City agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to your Basic Membership, Personal Matchmaker Meeting, Matchmaker Interview, recurring payment, cancellation, website use, communications, or any related MITC service shall be resolved by private, final, and binding individual arbitration, except for claims that cannot legally be required to arbitrate or claims that qualify for small claims court.
The arbitration shall be administered by AAA or JAMS under the applicable consumer arbitration rules, unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
Arbitration shall take place in Los Angeles County, California, or remotely by video if permitted by the arbitrator or agreed by the parties.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking temporary or emergency injunctive relief in court to protect confidentiality, privacy, intellectual property, safety, or other urgent rights.
22. Class Action Waiver and Jury Trial Waiver
By agreeing to this Basic Membership Agreement, you and Matchmakers In The City agree to bring any claim only on an individual basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and MITC waive the right to bring, join, participate in, or recover through any class action, collective action, consolidated action, representative action, mass action, private attorney general action, or other group proceeding.
You and MITC also waive the right to a jury trial for any dispute that proceeds in court rather than arbitration, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
If any portion of this waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, only that claim shall proceed as required by law, and all remaining claims shall proceed in individual arbitration to the fullest extent permitted by law.
